Who we are

IRONBEAM is a file transfer application developed by IRONBEAM Technologies ("we", "us", "our"). The service consists of a Windows desktop application and an iPhone app that work together to transfer files over a local Wi-Fi network. Our website is ironbeam.ca.

Information we do not collect

IRONBEAM is designed from the ground up to require no personal information. Specifically, we do not collect:

• Your name, email address, or any account credentials
• The names, contents, or metadata of any files you transfer
• Your IP address or device identifiers
• Usage statistics, analytics, or crash reports
• Location data
• Any data from your contacts, calendars, or other apps

How the app works

When you use IRONBEAM, your iPhone communicates directly with the IRONBEAM desktop application running on your Windows computer over your local Wi-Fi network. This connection is established using a local IP address that you enter manually. No data is routed through IRONBEAM servers at any point.

The desktop application creates a small local server on your computer (port 7878) that the iPhone app connects to directly. Files transferred using IRONBEAM travel only between your devices — they are never uploaded to any external server, cloud service, or third party.

Permissions used by the iPhone app

The IRONBEAM iPhone app may request the following permissions:

• Local Network Access — Required to discover and connect to the IRONBEAM desktop app on your local Wi-Fi network. We do not scan or access any other devices on your network.
• Photo Library — Only requested if you choose to share photos directly from your Photos library. We read only the specific photos you select; we never access your full library or any photo metadata beyond what is needed for the transfer you initiate.
• Files / File Access — Only to read the specific files you explicitly select to send. We do not access any files you have not chosen to transfer.

All permissions are used solely to enable the file transfer functionality you request. You may revoke any permission at any time via iPhone Settings → Privacy.

This website

ironbeam.ca is a static website served from shared hosting. We do not use analytics software, tracking pixels, advertising networks, or cookies of any kind. Standard web server access logs may be retained by our hosting provider for security and abuse prevention purposes.

Children's privacy

IRONBEAM does not knowingly collect any information from children under 13. As IRONBEAM collects no personal information from anyone, this policy applies equally to all users.

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes to this privacy policy, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Because we collect no personal data, changes are unlikely to affect you in a meaningful way. You are encouraged to review this page periodically.
